The 2024 “Teaching for Peace” Award has been presented by the Association for Historical Dialogue and Research to Pavlos M. Pavlou, former President of the Cyprus Progressive Society for the Modernization of our Society (OPEK), according to an OPEK announcement congratulating Mr. Pavlou.

“OPEK notes that Dr. Pavlou’s award is a recognition of his long-standing and dedicated contribution to education, critical historical thinking, and the cultivation of intercommunal understanding in Cyprus.”

Through his academic and literary work, public interventions, and continuous involvement in civil society, Dr. Pavlou has consistently championed democratic reform, social modernization, and peaceful coexistence, OPEK added.

The award ceremony will take place on Sunday, September 21, at the “Home for Cooperation” at 19:15.
