Liudmila Marochkina: How SPORTSOFT’s is Rewriting the Talent Retention Playbook in Cyprus
At the Doer Summit 2026, We Discuss What Businesses in Cyprus Can Do for Their Employees and the Local Community.
For decades, international business looked at Cyprus through a very specific lens: a beautiful, sun-drenched Mediterranean island with attractive tax incentives. But a quiet, structural revolution has taken place. Today, the island is no longer just a strategic address on a corporate letterhead, it is becoming a premier global hub for tech innovation and a permanent home for thousands of international families.
Live at the Doer Summit 2026, the Doers Podcast caught up with Liudmila Marochkina, the forward-thinking CEO of SPORTSOFT. Marking three consecutive years of collaboration between SPORTSOFT, marketing partner CAPSBOLD, and the Doer Summit, Liudmila shared an inspiring vision of how modern tech companies must look beyond software development to actively invest in the society, education, and infrastructure of Cyprus.
Liudmila, who has observed the local landscape for many years, notes that the Cyprus of today is unrecognizable compared to the country a decade ago.
"Cyprus is not anymore that country which was famous as a tax haven where people were just coming to relax their tax obligations," Liudmila states firmly. “Instead, targeted legislative frameworks, relaxed relocation rules, and a massive influx of capital have turned the country into a highly competitive home for financial, educational, and technological advancement.”
To bring this vision to life, SPORTSOFT has established a comprehensive educational ecosystem consisting of:
- One specialized school
- Two modern kindergartens
- An adult educational platform designed to help international tech employees rapidly learn the Greek language, pass local integration exams, and genuinely become a part of the local community.
Beyond education, SPORTSOFT is spearheading an architectural and athletic project that sounds entirely wild for a country famous for its year-round heat: a world-class ice palace.
When asked where she envisions Cyprus standing in the next ten years, Liudmila’s outlook is incredibly bullish. She sees an island where the "doers" of today look back a decade from now and collectively validate that choosing to plant roots, invest capital, and raise their families in Cyprus was the absolute correct call.
