This Is the Date of the Next Parliamentary Elections in Cyprus

Cyprus Sets Date for 2026 Parliamentary Elections

The Ministry of the Interior has announced that, following coordination with the House of Representatives, the Secretariat of the Presidency, and the Cyprus Police, the 2026 parliamentary elections will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2026.

In accordance with Article 67 of the Constitution, the House of Representatives will convene a plenary session on Thursday, April 23, 2026, during which a decision will be taken to dissolve Parliament.

The elections will be officially proclaimed by a Ministerial Decree issued by the Minister of the Interior and published in the Official Gazette of the Republic on Friday, April 24, 2026.

According to the Ministry’s statement, candidate nominations will take place on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, as part of the standard pre-election process.

All relevant timelines and procedures will be implemented in compliance with the legal and constitutional framework governing parliamentary elections in the Republic of Cyprus.
