The President of the Parliamentary Trade Committee expressed his dissatisfaction regarding the fact that none of the four ministries and deputy ministries, which were called to the meeting, intended to supervise the marinas in the Cypriot Republic. Mr. Hadjigiannis stated in his comments after the meeting that the Committee conducted an article-by-article discussion on the proposed law, which aims to modernize the operation of marinas.

Mr. Hadjigiannis noted that the marinas, having received billions in investments, must operate in multiple dimensions, including tourism and as points of controlled entry and exit within the Republic. He stressed that the existing regulations are inadequate and do not meet the requirements of a modern state like the Cypriot Republic, with its numerous obligations. He continued, stating it's unacceptable for four Ministries to exist, yet none are willing to take responsibility, with all declining the role.

"If the Ministries do not agree, let's put an announcement in the press seeking interest from various other services, and if this is not feasible, see if intervention is needed from other states," he remarked, clarifying the ironic tone of his comment. In response to a question on whether this issue could be legislated by the Parliament, he said that the Committee should not pre-determine this, as agreement from the competent authorities is necessary.
