Citizens can locate the nearest shelter through the SafeCY application or by contacting the Civil Defence Operations Control Centre at +357 22 403 451 or +357 22 403 452. It is recommended to identify the nearest shelter in advance, based on your current location.

The application is available for Android devices via the Play Store and for iOS devices via the App Store, in both Greek and English.

In the event of an emergency, sirens will sound in the affected areas and announcements will be made through various channels, including radio and television, to inform the public and direct them to the nearest shelter.

If there is no shelter nearby, citizens are advised to remain in a safe indoor space, such as basements, underground parking areas, or rooms with solid walls inside their home or workplace. Staying indoors is strongly recommended.

If you are outdoors and there is no time to seek shelter, lie face down on the ground, preferably inside a small ditch or trench, and cover your head with your hands.

Civil Defence remains in continuous operational readiness, aiming to contribute to the protection of citizens using all available means.
