Amyth of Nicosia: A New Boutique Hotel Bringing Authentic Hospitality to the Heart of the City
Thanos Hotels & Resorts Expands with a Unique Luxury Stay in Nicosia’s Historic Center
Thanos Hotels & Resorts is set to introduce a distinctive hospitality experience in Nicosia’s Old Town with the launch of Amyth of Nicosia, scheduled to welcome guests in March 2025. This boutique hotel will embody authentic Cypriot hospitality, seamlessly blending history, architecture, and modern luxury.
Located within the medieval Venetian walls at 29 Patriarchou Grigoriou Street, near the Archbishop’s Palace and the Hadjigeorgakis Kornesios Mansion, Amyth of Nicosia harmonizes with its historic surroundings.
The hotel's interiors, dating back to the early 1900s, retain many traditional architectural elements, including original flooring, a grand staircase, and refined decorative details that enhance its charm and elegance.
The architectural design is led by Heracles Papachristou, while the interior and exterior décor is curated by Maria Neophytou.
This elegantly restored mansion, which once operated as a school, is being transformed into a luxury boutique hotel featuring ten sophisticated rooms and suites, a courtyard restaurant, and a bar.
The restaurant will offer a Mediterranean-inspired dining experience, crafted by Chef Andrew Michael Smith under the guidance of Executive Chef David Goodridge. The menu will showcase local, fresh, and organic ingredients, drawing inspiration from traditional Cypriot recipes.
Amyth of Nicosia will also serve as a venue for private events, offering a combination of accommodation and exclusive dining experiences. The restaurant can host up to 100 guests in both indoor and outdoor settings, while a meeting space across from the hotel can accommodate 15 to 30 attendees, depending on the setup.
Guests will have the opportunity to explore Nicosia’s charming streets, visit museums, Byzantine churches, and immerse themselves in the city’s vibrant cultural scene, with galleries, exhibition spaces, cafés, and bars just a short walk from the hotel.
With the launch of Amyth of Nicosia, Thanos Hotels & Resorts aims to highlight a different side of Cyprus, encouraging visitors to discover the island’s rich cultural heritage and authentic traditions.
The hotel will also feature a curated selection of artworks by Cypriot artists, enhancing its connection to the local art scene.
Amyth of Nicosia is the latest addition to the Amyth Hotels collection by Thanos Hotels & Resorts, a brand dedicated to crafting immersive travel experiences that celebrate exploration, authenticity, and open-mindedness.
Exploration is at the heart of Amyth Hotels, which currently operates two locations in Mykonos. The brand creates a sanctuary where guests can uncover hidden gems, whether through cultural discoveries or moments of reflection.
Authenticity is a cornerstone of the Amyth Hotels identity, honoring each location’s heritage and character, ensuring that every hotel reflects the unique essence of its destination.
