FEREOS ARCHITECTS Wins Top Prize in CUT's Architectural Competition
The Construction Is Scheduled to Commence in About a Year and Expected to Be Completed in Approximately 2.5 Years
The Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) has unveiled the winners of its architectural competition for the new Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts building in Limassol. Attracting a total of 25 innovative entries, the contest was held from September 25 to December 11, 2023.
The Jury, which convened from December 12 to 15, 2023, to evaluate the submissions, decided to award the following cash prizes and commendations:
- First Prize (€40,000): FEREOS ARCHITECTS LLC / Pavlos Fereos
- Second Prize (€25,000): Chrysanthos H. Chrysanthou
- Third Prize (€15,000): Micromega Architecture & Strategies
- Commendation (€10,000): EPArchitects LLC / Eleni Pattichi
- Commendation (€10,000): AREA, ARCHITECTURE RESEARCH ATHENS / Styliani Daouti
- Honorable Mention: ALIAS ARCHITECTS / Aris Pantelis Liakopoulos
Expressing satisfaction with the high quality of the entries, the Jury extended heartfelt thanks to all the participants. Special congratulations were conveyed to those whose exceptional submissions earned them accolades in the competition.
The construction project, with an allocated budget of €12,897,300, is set to be a significant addition to the University's infrastructure. The building will be located on the Agiomamitou-Psyllaki plot, on Demosthenous Mitsi Street in Limassol. Scheduled to commence in about a year, the construction is expected to be completed in approximately 2.5 years, marking a new chapter in the University’s commitment to fostering innovation and creativity in multimedia and graphic arts.
