New €18 Million Football Facilities to Be Built in Kornos

Project Funded by EU to Begin Construction in December 2025, Says Mayor of Lefkara

The construction of new football facilities by the Cyprus Football Association (CFA) in the Kornos municipal district of the Lefkara Municipality is expected to cost approximately €18 million, according to an official announcement by the Mayor of Lefkara, Sofocles Sofocleous.

Mr. Sofocleous expressed satisfaction with the information he received today from the Director General and an officer of the CFA regarding the project’s confirmation and the expected timeline for the start of construction.

He noted that “the urban planning permit has been issued, and the building permit is expected to be granted by June 2025. Construction is scheduled to begin in December. The project is budgeted at €18 million and will be funded by European resources.”

Mr. Sofocleous also “extended his thanks to the President and the Board of Directors of the CFA, the Director General and staff of the Association, the Kornos Community Council, and the Municipal Council of Lefkara for their collective efforts toward completing a project that will undoubtedly impact the local economy,” the statement concludes.
