Another Delay: Pentakomo Tech Park Tender Pushed Yet Again
Repeated extensions renew doubts about the project’s future and the government’s timeline.
The Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry has announced yet another extension for the submission of bids to find a strategic investor for the development and operation of the Science and Technology Park in Pentakomo. The new deadline is now December 10, replacing the previously set November 12.
According to the ministry’s announcement, the tender concerns a competitive process with negotiation, aimed at selecting a qualified investor to develop and manage the long-awaited park. Interested economic operators have been informed that an Addendum 2 has been uploaded to the relevant section of the Electronic Public Procurement System, modifying paragraph 6.4 of Part A of the tender documents and including clarifications in response to submitted questions.
This latest postponement follows a familiar pattern. The tender process was first launched in June 2025, when the government sought to revive the Science and Technology Park project after nearly two decades of delays and abandoned plans. However, by September 2025, the ministry had already extended the submission deadline once, citing procedural and clarification needs.

The Pentakomo Science and Technology Park was initially envisioned as a hub for innovation, research, and high-tech entrepreneurship, meant to position Cyprus as a regional center for technological development. Yet, despite years of planning, multiple feasibility studies, and shifting strategies, the project has struggled to progress beyond the announcement stage.
With the latest deadline extension, questions are once again being raised about the timeline credibility regarding one of Cyprus’s longest-delayed development projects.
