Chief Scientist Skourides Visits SOZO Brain Center in Cyprus

Cyprus Showcases Impact of SOZO Brain Center in AI-Powered Neurostimulation

The Chief Scientist of the Republic of Cyprus, Demetris Skourides, was briefed on the research activities, clinical practices, and international collaborations of the SOZO Brain Center, headquartered in Cyprus, during his recent visit. The Center specializes in neurostimulation therapies and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven medical technologies.

Following the visit, Mr. Skourides stated, according to an official announcement: “Cyprus’ research and innovation ecosystem continues to grow through the work of scientists, clinical doctors, and entrepreneurs who promote solutions with a global impact. My visit to SOZO Brain Center provided valuable insights into the pioneering research being conducted in Cyprus, the international collaborations being forged, and the ways innovation contributes to the wider scientific and medical community.”

Mr. Skourides was also informed about the Center’s medical training programs. More than 150 doctors from 14 countries have been trained in SOZO’s neurostimulation protocols, while over 60 clinical physicians have been certified as SOZO Fellows, actively applying these therapies in their practices. Collectively, this global network has treated more than 3,500 patients worldwide.

The visit included presentations on current projects, international partnerships, and a live demonstration of “Brain Sensei”, an AI-powered neurotechnology helmet.

SOZO Brain Center drives global collaboration through three strategic pillars:

  • Clinical Trials Center (CTC)

  • Accredited CME e-learning platform

  • Train-the-trainer education labs.

“It is exciting to see how AI is applied in healthcare here in Cyprus,” noted Mr. Skourides. “SOZO’s commitment to developing technologies such as Agentic AI within medical protocols, alongside Cyprus’ broader innovation investments, reflects the vision of the National Research and Innovation Strategy 2024–2026.”

Matthew Papadopoulos, CEO of SOZO Brain Center, emphasized the organization’s international role: “At SOZO, we are advancing a pioneering AI platform with brain.space, setting global standards in neurostimulation while building a worldwide network of trained physicians already transforming patient care. Through clinical trials, co-branded clinics in major cities, and the accredited CME learning platform, we are expanding innovation from Cyprus to the world.”

The Chief Scientist’s visit is part of his broader mission to actively support applied research, promote commercialization, and strengthen international partnerships.

Based in Cyprus, the SOZO Brain Center is a research organization in the healthcare sector, focusing on neurostimulation therapies and AI-driven medical technologies. Through international collaborations, training programs, and clinical partnerships, the Center advances neuroscience while improving patient outcomes worldwide.
