The Cyprus Information Technology Enterprises Association (CITEA), a member of the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB), has signed a collaboration agreement with the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) regarding the participation of Cypriot IT companies in the world-renowned technology exhibition, GITEX, held annually in Dubai.

According to the announcement, based on the agreement, CITEA will serve as the official representative of DWTC in Cyprus for the GITEX Global 2024 and Global DevSlam 2024 exhibitions, scheduled to take place from October 14 to 18, 2024, in Dubai. The agreement is expected to be renewed for 2025.

GITEX is the largest technology exhibition in the world, attracting top scientists and businesses from around the globe to showcase the latest developments in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship. More than 6,000 exhibitors from 180 countries participate, and this year, visitors are expected to exceed 187,000.

This agreement is part of CITEA's efforts to support and promote its members abroad and to enhance Cyprus' presence on the global technology and innovation map.

CITEA works closely with the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, and Industry, and the Cyprus Trade Center in the United Arab Emirates, which financially supports Cypriot businesses by covering 50-85% of their participation costs. Cyprus has participated with a national pavilion for the past three years, and the interest of Cypriot businesses in 2024 has seen a sharp increase. This year’s national pavilion is the largest ever organized for Cyprus at this exhibition.
