Cyta Business Launches Innovative NB-IoT Network in Cyprus

"NB-IoT network offers low-power, long-range wireless connectivity for smart devices, revolutionizing business and utility sectors

On September 26, 2024, at The Royal Hall in Nicosia, Cyta Business hosted a special event to unveil the NarrowBand-Internet of Things (NB-IoT) network. NB-IoT is a low-power, wide-area wireless network designed specifically to seamlessly connect IoT-enabled devices requiring low power, low throughput, and long-range communication.

With business representatives, public officials, and media present, Cyta Business highlighted the new possibilities NB-IoT brings, designed to meet the needs of modern businesses and utility organizations in the age of the Internet of Things.

Keynote speakers included Niki Ioannou (Head of Sales, Customer Service, Marketing & Communications, Cyta Business) and Konstantinos Kompocholis (Senior Marketing Manager, Huawei), while Dr. Zinon Zinonos (Assistant Professor at the American University of Beirut – Mediterraneo and Cyta Board Member) moderated the panel discussion. Panel participants included Alexis Makrygiannis (Head of Technical Solutions and Special Projects, Cyta Business), Evripides Kyriakides (Senior Electrical/Mechanical Engineer, Department of Water Development, Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment), and Giorgos Michael (Assistant Network Engineer, Department of Electronics & Telecommunications, EAC).

Following the presentations, a networking cocktail allowed attendees to connect and exchange ideas.

With the launch of the NB-IoT network, Cyta Business strengthens its leadership in Cyprus telecommunications and revolutionizes connectivity and "smart" applications. By continuously investing in new technologies, Cyta offers high-quality services and advanced, smart solutions tailored to the needs of both public and private organizations, supporting their digital transformation.
