CYENS Centre Open Event Promotes Digital Innovation and Collaboration
The European Digital Innovation Hub for Cyprus, DiGiNN, hosted an open event on Tuesday at the CYENS Centre of Excellence, aiming to connect public organizations and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
According to a press release, DiGiNN (European Digital Innovation Hub Cyprus) is a consortium of 11 public and private sector organizations, including CYENS. It was established by the European Commission under the "Digital Europe" Program to enhance Cyprus's digital capacity and facilitate the widespread integration of digital technologies by Cypriot SMEs, public organizations, and ministries. The initiative is co-funded by the European Commission and the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy of the Republic of Cyprus.
Through a series of GovTech networking events, DiGiNN fosters a thriving ecosystem where the government and SMEs can co-create innovative solutions and develop partnerships. It also provides a platform for meaningful connections between the public and private sectors, offering digital upgrade support services such as High-Performance Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, access to funding programs and private investments, personalized digital skills training, and mediation for creating contacts between industry, businesses, and the public sector.
Attendees heard brief presentations from DiGiNN's General Director Anoksi Antonakoudi and Nadia Lordier, the Strategic Coordinator of the Smart City project implemented by the Municipality of Nicosia at the modern Nicosia Smart City Management and Control Center. Additionally, they were informed about the latest developments in the GovTech sector and how technology can significantly improve public services and support the business ecosystem, the announcement concluded.
