Innovative Digital Signage Boosts Paphos Tourism

Paphos Tourism Development and Promotion Company Celebrates the Success of Its Digital Information Initiative

The Paphos Regional Tourism Development and Promotion Company expresses satisfaction with the results of its initiative to digitize information and replace static information boards with smart, environmentally friendly, discreet, and interactive signs.

According to an announcement, statistical data from January to December 2023, collected through QR codes, reveal that there have been more than 345,000 scans across 71 smart signs throughout the province.

The most popular signs were located at the Tombs of the Kings, the Kato Paphos Archaeological Park, the Agios Neophytos Monastery, the Panagia Chrysopolitissa, and in various rural areas.

The five main nationalities, aside from the permanent residents of Cyprus, that scanned the signs were the British, Polish, French, German, and Italian. These nationalities align with the primary markets from which Paphos attracted visitors in 2023.

The Paphos Regional Tourism Development and Promotion Company notes that its efforts are not only continuing but also intensifying in the fields of digitization, accessibility, sustainable development, and in enhancing cultural heritage and creative tourism.

The expansion of this institution and the aforementioned innovative action continues into the year 2024, with an additional 25 such signs in various rural areas and points of interest throughout the province, concludes the announcement.
