The National Bioethics Committees of Cyprus and Greece Sign MoU
Deeper Alliance for Scientific and Educational Progress
The National Bioethics Committee of Cyprus has forged a partnership with the National Bioethics and Technoethics Committee of Greece through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding. The agreement aims to reinforce and deepen their collaborative efforts.
The announcement by the committees highlighted that the agreement was formalized in January in Athens. The signing ceremony was presided over by Professor Konstantinos Fellas, President of the Cyprus Committee, and Charalambos Tsekeris, Vice President and Chair of the Greek Committee.
The Memorandum's objective is multifaceted: it aims to deepen the mutual relationships between the committees, further their shared goals and interests, and enhance their scientific and educational cooperation. This will be achieved within their established remits and in compliance with the governing legislation.
Following the signing, a highly constructive dialogue took place, focusing on the exploration of future joint initiatives. These initiatives, aimed at fostering further collaboration, will be disclosed to the public in stages, as per the committees' additional statements.
