Exclusive Press Conference & Fireside Discussion with Ministry Officials, MIT Representatives, and Tech Leaders
“Cyprus × MIT: A Fireside on the Future of Tech Education” Will Be Held on January 14.
Announced earlier this year, the first MIT MISTI Global Teaching Labs (GTL)program in Cyprus is already here. Several days ago, the MIT team arrived from Boston, and active preparation for the program running in three cities is now in full swing.
In order to seize this unique opportunity while MIT is on the island and to enable direct dialogue about the future of tech education in Cyprus, the organizing committee of KidIT Cyprus is announcing a high-level strategic event, “Cyprus × MIT: A Fireside on the Future of Tech Education,” to be held on January 14, 2026, at Neapolis University Paphos.
This exclusive gathering brings together top-tier stakeholders from the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth, leading universities, and senior executives from global technology firms. The event serves as a platform to discuss the modernization of STEM education and the integration of Cyprus into the global academic ecosystem.
For the first time in history, students from MIT — consistently ranked as the world’s top university — will be present in Cyprus to collaborate directly with local institutions including the University of Cyprus, Cyprus University of Technology (CUT), Neapolis University, and Lumio School.
Through this partnership, MIT students will deliver a world-class STEM and robotics program to talented Cypriot teenagers aged 15–18.
The event combines a press conference format with an engaging fireside panel discussion. The curated audience of approximately 50 high-level participants ensures a high-signal environment for discussing critical topics such as the internationalization of higher education and alignment with global educational trends.
