The consortium of the Aphrodite natural gas field, consisting of Chevron Cyprus Limited, NewMed Energy Limited Partnership, and BG Cyprus Limited, has submitted its proposal for optimizing the agreed Development and Production Plan within the set timelines. This was announced by the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, and Industry.

"The Ministry, along with its advisors, will evaluate the submitted proposal and accordingly inform the License-holding consortium," the statement noted. It also added that "in the meantime, the Ministry does not intend to make further public statements on this matter."
