Cyprus Economy Grows 3% in Q1 2025

After a slowdown in late 2024, Cyprus records stronger GDP growth in early 2025.

Cyprus’s economy grew by 3.0% in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, marking a rebound from the slower growth of 2.6% recorded in the final quarter of last year.

According to the Statistical Service of Cyprus, after adjusting for seasonal variations and working days, the annual growth rate of GDP stood at 3.0% year-on-year for Q1 2025.

Compared to the previous quarter (Q4 2024), the seasonally and calendar-adjusted GDP growth was calculated at 1.3%, reflecting a quarter-on-quarter acceleration.

The positive GDP performance is attributed mainly to growth in the sectors of Wholesale and Retail Trade (including motor vehicle repair), Information and Communication, Construction, and Accommodation and Food Service Activities (Hotels and Restaurants).
