Cyprus EV Subsidy Portal Reopens July 8: Up to €20,000 in Grants
Applications for new and used electric vehicles with incentives across multiple categories.
The online portal of the Department of Road Transport will reopen on July 8 for the submission of supplementary applications under the Electric Mobility Promotion Plan in Cyprus. The process will begin at 9:00 AM and remain active until September 2, 2025, at midnight, or until the available grants per category are exhausted.
The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Works invites the public to apply for subsidies for the purchase of new or used electric vehicles. Grant amounts range from €7,500 for replacing a vehicle with a new low CO₂-emission model, up to €20,000 for the purchase of a zero-emission vehicle by large families or eligible disabled vehicle beneficiaries.
In detail:
-
Category G1: Covers scrapping and replacement with a new private-use low CO₂-emission vehicle (up to 50 g/km) with a maximum purchase price of €80,000. The grant is €7,500, with 40 grants available.
-
Category G5: Refers to the purchase of a new private-use zero CO₂-emission vehicle with the same price ceiling. The grant is €9,000, with 150 grants offered.
-
Category G7: Targets eligible disabled vehicle beneficiaries for the purchase of a new zero CO₂-emission vehicle, offering a grant of €20,000 with 10 grants available.
-
Category G8: For large families purchasing a new zero CO₂-emission vehicle with a purchase price limit of €80,000, with the same grant amount of €20,000 and 10 grants available.
-
Category G9: Covers the purchase of a used private-use zero CO₂-emission vehicle with a maximum price of €35,000. The grant is €9,000, with 50 subsidies available.
The Ministry clarifies that ordering a vehicle prior to the application date, in accordance with the Plan’s guidelines, does not exclude eligibility for a grant. However, vehicles already registered before the application date are not eligible.
Finally, the Department of Road Transport notes that it reserves the right to terminate applications for any grant category early, with at least seven days' notice.
