Cyprus Seeds & 33East Host London Tech Startup Event

Cyprus Seeds & 33East Host London Tech Startup Event

Cyprus Seeds and 33East organised their first joint event in London on Thursday, 5th February  2026, marking the beginning of a closer collaboration in their shared mission to strengthen the  global Cypriot innovation community and support founders building scalable, internationally  oriented ventures.

The gathering, which took place at the High Commission of the Republic of Cyprus in London,  attracted more than 100 founders, researchers, and tech startups in London, with strong Cypriot  links.

The audience also heard founder journeys from Electryone AI and Genie Fertility, startups  backed by 33East, as well as Tyten. The teams shared how their ideas evolved from early  insight to product and early traction, highlighting the challenges and opportunities of building  tech-driven companies.

Ioannis Kasinopoulos of Electryone AI presented its journey of building the participation layer  for the new energy economy, transforming homes from passive consumers into active,  intelligent contributors to the grid through a hardware-agnostic, inclusive energy platform.

Andreas Hadjimitsis of Genie Fertility presented its journey of building a non-invasive  discovery platform for uterine health, unlocking molecular insights from the endometrium for  precision care in fertility and reproductive health.

Tyten shared its founder journey from the Antler accelerator to early commercial traction. Tom  Petrides described how the team turned first-hand industry insight into an AI-driven platform  for facilities management, culminating in a recent funding round.

The evening allowed for meaningful networking, fostering new connections among  entrepreneurs, researchers, and Cypriots of the diaspora in London. Participants were  additionally briefed on upcoming opportunities in funding, mentoring, and networking offered  through Cyprus Seeds and 33East.

The event in London is one of a series which Cyprus Seeds will organise with 33East, as part  of a broader strategy to expand its offering beyond scientific teams from academic institutions  and research institutes in Cyprus to also support tech startups abroad that maintain strong ties  to the country. The partnership event series is designed to connect founders, researchers, and  investors who are targeting international markets.

As part of this strategic direction, Cyprus Seeds is deepening its partnership with 33East, the  VC firm backed by the Government of Cyprus, with the mission to transform Cyprus into a  hive of innovation and entrepreneurship. 33East invests in ambitious founders at the pre-seed  and seed stages and provides access to an international network of partners and investors.

Cyprus Seeds and 33East will build on this foundation through joint initiatives aimed at  empowering science‑based entrepreneurship, supporting founders from idea to scale and  strengthening Cyprus’ position in the international technology and innovation landscape.
