The Ministry of Interior and the Department of Town Planning and Housing (DTPH) have announced the fourth call for applications for the Grant Scheme supporting business activity in Nicosia’s walled city. Applications can be submitted from September 29, 2025, until December 26, 2025.

According to the announcement, the scheme falls under the memorandum of understanding for the regeneration and revitalization of Nicosia’s walled city and is funded by the state budget of the Republic of Cyprus. Applications can only be submitted electronically through the platform: https://hippodamus.tph.moi.gov.cy/ApplicationSubmission.

The grant provides financial support to natural or legal persons who are:

• Owners or tenants of buildings (with signed consent from the owners).

• Tenants of Turkish Cypriot properties (with signed consent from the Guardian of Turkish Cypriot Properties – Nicosia District Officer).

Applicants must either already conduct or plan to conduct economic activity within the walled city of Nicosia, with the aim of strengthening local business activity.

The main objectives of the scheme are:

• Attracting new businesses to Nicosia’s walled city.

• Encouraging existing businesses to relocate to the designated areas.

• Supporting businesses already operating in the area to expand their facilities.

• Promoting social and economic upgrading of the city center.

• Enhancing the built environment through circular economy and green development practices.

• Increasing visitor numbers from across Cyprus and the Greater Nicosia region.

• Creating new job opportunities.

Each grant will cover 60% of eligible expenses, with a maximum financial assistance of €80,000 per project.
