Cyprus Finance Minister and EIB Vice-President Discuss Future Investment Priorities
Minister Makis Keravnos met with EIB Vice-President Marek Mora in Nicosia to review ongoing development projects and map out the bank's future financing portfolio for Cyprus.
The prospects and priorities of the future investment portfolio of the European Investment Bank (EIB) in Cyprus were discussed during a meeting between the Minister of Finance, Makis Keravnos, and EIB Vice-President Marek Mora, in Nicosia on Thursday, according to a statement by the Ministry of Finance.
According to the statement, Keravnos met today with EIB Vice-President, who is making his first official visit to Cyprus in the context of representing the Bank at the Informal Meeting of Ministers responsible for Cohesion Policy, which is being held in Nicosia.
Mora, a former Deputy Minister of Finance of the Czech Republic, succeeded the Cypriot Vice-President Kyriakos Kakouris in October 2025. He represents Cyprus, together with five other Member States, on the EIB’s Management Committee, the statement noted.
“The close and long-standing cooperation between the EIB and the Republic of Cyprus was at the centre of discussions during the meeting between the two men,” the statement said.
Both sides reviewed the existing financing programmes and the progress made in implementing development projects in Cyprus. They also discussed the prospects and priorities of the Bank’s future investment portfolio in Cyprus, the statement concludes.
