Eurostat data reveals Cyprus recorded over 5.5 million overnight tourist stays during the peak months of July and August 2025. Strong numbers continued through October before falling sharply in November, mirroring a broader EU-wide trend of summer seasonality.
Peak Summer Tourism Figures Revealed
More than 5.5 million overnight stays were recorded in tourist accommodation in Cyprus in July and August 2025, according to data published on Tuesday by Eurostat on seasonality in the tourism sector.
Monthly Breakdown and Autumn Decline
Based on Eurostat’s figures, overnight stays in Cyprus reached 2,627,725 in July and 2,953,148 in August, bringing the total for the two peak months to 5,580,873. High tourist activity was also recorded in September, with 2,484,732 overnight stays, and in October, with 2,382,970, before falling to 859,936 in November and 504,843 in December.
European Seasonality Trends Comparison
According to Eurostat, in 2025, 31.1% of all overnight stays in tourist accommodation in the European Union took place during the two months with the highest tourist activity. In all member states, these months were July and August.
