Eurostat Reports 1.6% Quarterly House Price Increase For Cyprus
House Prices in Cyprus Rise by 1.6% in the First Quarter of 2026, According to Eurostat
Eurostat data shows Cyprus house prices grew 3.4% year-on-year and 1.6% quarterly in Q1 2026, pointing to a cooling annual growth rate compared to late 2025's sharp climbs.
Annual and Quarterly Growth Estimates
House prices in Cyprus increased by 3.4% in the first quarter of 2026 compared with the same quarter of 2025, according to data published by Eurostat on Thursday. On a quarterly basis, compared with the fourth quarter of 2025, house prices in Cyprus rose by 1.6%.
Sluggish Annual Growth Trajectory Compared to 2025
According to Eurostat, the annual growth in house prices in Cyprus slowed in the first quarter of 2026, following a 6.0% increase recorded in the fourth quarter of 2025. Previously, prices had risen by 4.2% in the third quarter of 2025 and by 2.9% in the second quarter of the same year, compared with the corresponding quarters of the previous year.
Historical Quarterly Variations
On a quarterly basis, house prices in Cyprus had declined by 1.8% in the second quarter of 2025, increased by 3.7% in the third quarter, and remained unchanged in the fourth quarter.
Eurozone and European Union Trends
In the euro area, house prices, as measured by the House Price Index (HPI), increased by 4.7% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2026, while in the European Union the annual increase stood at 5.1%. In the fourth quarter of 2025, the corresponding increases were 5.1% in the euro area and 5.4% in the EU.
