How Much Do Cyprus’ Top Officials Really Earn?
From the President to department directors, all gross and net monthly earnings revealed.
Detailed salary data for all state officials, as applicable from 1 January 2026, have been made public by the General Accounting Office.
According to the announcement by the General Accounting Office, transparency in the state’s financial transactions strengthens accountability within public services and enables citizens to hold them more accountable.
At the top of the salary scale is the President of the Republic, who receives a total monthly salary, including allowances, of €14,401, with net monthly earnings of €9,145 after taxation.
This is followed by the Attorney General of the Republic, the Assistant Attorney General, as well as the President and members of the Supreme Court, who receive a total monthly salary with allowances of €13,531 and net monthly earnings of €9,207.
At the next level, with a total monthly salary including allowances of €12,173 and a net monthly salary of €8,331, are the President and judges of the Court of Appeal.
The President of the House of Representatives receives a total monthly salary with allowances of €11,456, with net earnings of €7,461.
This is followed by the President of the Public Service Commission, who earns a total monthly salary with allowances of €11,431 and net earnings of €7,241, and the President of the Educational Service Commission, with a total monthly salary of €10,871 and net monthly earnings of €6,924.
The President and judges of the District and Administrative Courts, the Maritime Court, and the Commercial Court receive a total monthly salary with allowances of €10,712, with net earnings of €7,456.
Following closely, with a total monthly salary including allowances of €10,696 and net earnings of €7,172, are the Chief of Police, the Auditor General, the Secretary General of the House of Representatives, the Head of Independent Authorities, Directors General of Ministries, Deputy Ministries or General Directorates, the Chief Registrar, and the Accountant General.
The Commissioner for Administration receives net earnings of €6,825, while the President of the Competition Protection Commission earns a net monthly salary of €7,366.
Ministers, Deputy Ministers, and the Government Spokesperson receive a total monthly salary with allowances of €9,343, with net earnings of €6,078 after taxation.
The same total monthly salary applies to the Director General of the Office of the President of the Republic, the Commissioner for Transparency (net salary €6,385), the Commissioner for Legislation, and the Commissioner for the Protection of Children’s Rights (net salary €6,078).
A Department Director (with a fixed salary) receives a total monthly salary with allowances of €8,996, with net earnings of €6,145.
