Nexans Revises Great Sea Interconnector Schedule, Delivery Date Impacted
French firm says changes won’t affect 2028 financial forecasts despite timeline impact.
A new rescheduling of activities related to the Great Sea Interconnector (GSI) is currently under way and is expected to affect the project’s delivery date, French company Nexans announced.
In a statement issued yesterday, Tuesday, to the French stock exchange—providing “additional clarifications” regarding the execution of the GSI contract—Nexans said it is working closely with its client to assess the best available options for a revised project execution timeline.
The French company stated that it is carrying out the project in line with its contractual obligations and in accordance with the milestones established since 2023, adding that it remains committed to its client in delivering the project.
According to Nexans, while these changes will affect the project’s delivery date, they will not impact the company’s financial forecasts for 2028. This is attributed to the group’s substantial order backlog and the preventive measures taken to mitigate potential impacts starting from 2026.
Nexans also announced that it will present its financial outlook for 2026 together with its full-year 2025 results on 19 February 2026.
Meanwhile, according to the statement, Julien Hueber, Chief Executive Officer of Nexans, said that “the GSI project remains under execution, and we are fully committed to supporting our client in completing this critical infrastructure.” He added that the company is “managing this situation with strong execution discipline.”
He further noted that the mitigation measures implemented by the company from 2026 to address external developments “allow us to remain firmly on track with our financial trajectory, as well as with our 2028 forecasts.”
