Oil Prices Decline Ahead of Anticipated US-Iran Deal

Oil prices were falling by over 5% in early trading across Asian markets today, amid anticipation that a deal will be signed between the US and Iranian governments to permanently end the war in the Middle East, despite US President Donald Trump appearing to temper expectations that this would happen immediately.

Around 02:10 (Cyprus time), the price of a barrel of North Sea Brent, the international benchmark, was down by 5.14% at 98.22 dollars, while a barrel of the US benchmark WTI (West Texas Intermediate) was dropping by 5.21% to 91.57 dollars.
