Cyprus Stock Exchange Moves Higher as Bank of Cyprus Gains

The General Index Rose By 0.63%, With Banking And Investment Shares Attracting The Strongest Investor Interest.

The Cyprus Stock Exchange recorded gains on Friday.

At 12:52, the General Index stood at 287.80 points, marking an increase of 0.63%.

The FTSE/CySE 20 Index stood at 173.56 points, recording a rise of 0.75%. At the same time, the value of transactions reached €50,970.26.

Among the sector indices, the Investment Companies Index moved up by 0.97%, the Main Market Index gained 0.77%, and the Alternative Market Index increased by 0.11%. The Hotels Index remained unchanged.

The shares attracting the strongest investor interest were Bank of Cyprus with €26,319.65 in trading volume (up 1.54%), Demetra Holdings with €21,964.74 (up 1.98%), Petrolina Holdings with €1,383.26 (up 1.67%), Logicom with €990.56 (unchanged), and Blue Island with €521.60 (down 7.39%).

Of the shares traded, four moved higher, one declined, and one remained unchanged. The number of transactions stood at 32.
