Cyprus Students to Receive Grants for Tablets and Laptops

A new scheme offers tablets and laptops to boost students’ digital skills and modernize learning.

The Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth announced a new subsidy scheme to support the purchase of tablets and laptops for students, as part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan and the project “Digital Transformation of School Units for the Enhancement of Digital and STEM Education Skills.”

This initiative aims to empower students with digital tools that foster modern learning and strengthen their technological competencies. The programme is a key step in the government’s broader digital transformation strategy, designed to prepare the next generation for an increasingly digital world.

Through this action, the ministry seeks to equip pupils with essential digital skills that will help them adapt to both the evolving educational landscape and the demands of everyday life. By providing access to devices, students will benefit from enhanced learning opportunities, improved access to knowledge, and greater engagement in classroom activities.

Under the new grant scheme:

  • €100 will be offered for the purchase of tablets to students in Grade 3 of public primary schools, and

  • €300 for the purchase of laptops to students in Grade 2 of public lower secondary schools.

Importantly, this subsidy will be granted only to families receiving the child allowance, ensuring that financial support reaches those most in need.
