Apostles Peter and Paul High School Team to Represent Cyprus in Sweden
A team from Apostles Peter and Paul High School has been selected to represent Cyprus at the International Stockholm Junior Water Prize, an annual competition held in Sweden.
According to a statement by the Limassol Water Board, the selection event took place last Saturday at the Water Museum, which has been the National Organizer for the competition since 2011.
The judging panel, comprising professors and scientific collaborators from the University of Cyprus, the Cyprus Institute, and the Cyprus University of Technology, selected the team after a rigorous question-and-answer session and final evaluation. The Apostles Peter and Paul High School team will be the 14th school team to represent Cyprus at the International SJWP, set to take place in late August.
The winning proposal from Apostles Peter and Paul High School is titled "Electrospun Nanofiber Membranes for Mixed Microplastic and Co-contaminant Removal on Seed Germination and Early Plant Growth."
Proposals were also submitted by teams from The Grammar School Nicosia, American Academy (Private) Limassol, The Heritage Private School Cyprus, Agios Georgios Lakatamia High School, and Agios Spyridonas High School.
