The Inauguration Ceremony Will Be Officiated by the President of the Republic.

The inauguration of the American University of Beirut (AUB) campus in Paphos will take place next Wednesday, September 4th. The campus, known as AUB Mediterraneo, has been established on the site of the former "Haroupomylos" complex on Apostolou Pavlou Avenue in Paphos.

According to a university announcement, the inauguration ceremony will be officiated by the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, at 19:00.

The opening of the AUB Mediterraneo campus in Paphos marks a new chapter in the long history of the globally renowned American University of Beirut as this prestigious academic institution expands and extends its academic, educational, and social activities in the region and beyond.

The Paphos campus aspires to become a hub for academic and cultural exchanges, promoting the values of knowledge, innovation, and social contribution, values that have characterized AUB throughout its 150-year history.

The event's program also includes a special ceremony where Cypriot alumni of the parent American University of Beirut (AUB) will be honored as a token of appreciation and recognition for their contributions to both the university and Cypriot society.

In addition to the President of the Republic, the event will be attended by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the American University of Beirut (AUB), Abdo George Kadifa, accompanied by members of the Board, the President of the University, Dr. Fadlo R. Khuri, the Dean of AUB Mediterraneo, Dr. Wassim El Hajj, and the university leadership, the U.S. Ambassador to Cyprus, Julie Fisher, the Mayor of Paphos, Phaedon Phaedonos, Members of Parliament, Ambassadors of foreign countries, local officials, and other dignitaries from Cyprus and Lebanon.
