Over 300 Schools in Cyprus Targeted by Bomb Threat Emails

Authorities Investigate Mass Threats Sent to Schools Across All Districts

More than 300 schools across Cyprus received bomb threat emails today, according to a statement from the police. Authorities are currently investigating the mass distribution of these threatening messages.

According to the statement, the police were notified of the threats at approximately 7:00 a.m. In response, the Crisis Management Center at police headquarters was immediately activated under the supervision of the Assistant Chief for Crime Prevention and Investigation.

Simultaneously, the Protocol for Isolated or Mass Threats was enacted in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Sports, and Youth.

Police officers conducted inspections at the affected schools, while the Cybercrime Division launched an investigation to trace the origin of the emails.

In addition to these measures, assistance has been requested from Interpol and Europol. Authorities have also confirmed that similar threatening messages have been sent to schools in Hungary and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
