“Catch me… in Paris”: Georgia Konstantinou Clark on the Magic of Dance and the Power of Dreams

Two Eleven Dance Studio presents the dance performance “Catch me… in Paris”, a magical journey to the City of Light, inspired by the film The Red Balloon. Through contemporary, ballet, jazz, and modern dance, the performance highlights the magic hidden in everyday moments and invites us to rediscover the world through a childlike perspective.

On the occasion of the performance, co-founder of Two Eleven Dance Studio, Georgia Konstantinou Clark, shares her thoughts on the inspiration behind the concept, her personal connection to dance, and the message she hopes to convey to the audience.

How Do You See the Concept of the Performance, and What Does It Mean to You?

It’s very important to have dreams and goals. Like our previous performances, this one is also about the magic we experience along the journey.

All the teachers at the studio chose to draw inspiration from this particular piece. Anyone who has seen it can easily understand how movement—like dance—can communicate powerful messages without the use of words.

We wanted to give this story a more contemporary form, connecting it with today—through references to life in Paris, the people one might encounter there, human relationships, and how simple things, like a balloon, can bring so much joy.

When Did Your Love for Dance Begin?

I remember myself from a very young age constantly dancing. Even during meals, people would tell me I never really sat still—I was always dancing. I started dance lessons at the age of eight.

What Does Dance Mean to You?

Dance is a way of expression and creation for me. It is a very important part of my life and everyday routine.

What can Audiences Expect from “Catch me… in Paris”?

A lot of love for dance. People of all ages are coming together to do what they love. Within an hour, the audience will experience a story unfolding—one filled with hope and dreams.

Which Dance Style do You Feel Most Connected to?

I feel most connected to contemporary dance, as it is the field I have dedicated my studies and professional journey to, both as a dancer and a teacher.
