Cyprus Welcomes First Smart Electric Lifebuoys
Paphos ETAP Unveils Innovative, Eco-Friendly Lifeguard Tools to Enhance Emergency Response and Beachgoer Protection
Paphos ETAP will provide local authorities with three electric lifebuoys for use by lifeguards.
According to ETAP Director Nasos Hadjigeorgiou, the company is actively enhancing the safety of beachgoers by providing state-of-the-art "smart" remotely controlled lifebuoys, unique in Cyprus.
Specifically, as stated in Hadjigeorgiou's announcement, these lifebuoys, appearing for the first time in Cypriot waters, are environmentally friendly as they are electric and rechargeable. They have a range of up to 800 meters from the operator and can reach a swimmer in need of assistance very quickly, being five times faster than the speed of the world swimming champion. Their maintenance is minimal, and they are very easy to use.
Initially, three lifebuoys have been secured and will be delivered free of charge to the local authorities.
Paphos ETAP expresses its gratitude to the Kinyras Lifeguard Club for their cooperation and to the Deputy Ministry of Tourism for their continuous support, Hadjigeorgiou concludes.
