Roads leading to Troodos are open only to vehicles fitted with snow chains, following recent snowfall, the Police announced.

Specifically, the Police stated that the Karvounas–Troodos, Platres–Troodos, and Prodromos–Troodos roads are open exclusively to vehicles equipped with anti-skid snow chains and/or four-wheel drive.

The Police further noted that dense fog prevails in the Troodos area, significantly limiting visibility. Drivers are urged to be particularly cautious, maintain safe distances from vehicles ahead, and keep their vehicle headlights switched on at all times.

At 13:30, the snow depth at the Jubilee Hotel was recorded at 5 centimetres, with temperatures at 1.8 degrees Celsius. In Chionistra, snow depth reached 11 centimetres, while temperatures stood at 0 degrees Celsius.

A yellow weather warning remains in effect for heavy snowfall and significant snow accumulation in the Troodos region.
