Change is always difficult at the beginning and messy in the middle as a well-known writer once wrote. Transitioning from a discipline that I was used to for so many years was indeed refreshing despite the difficulties. The team at D. Zavos Group was very welcoming of this change and collectively allowed me space to work and adjust. The spirit of the team I think was a deciding element of the whole process being successful.
I’ve always been a strong supporter of using digital tools to solve problems, even those you didn't know you had. When I got into my new role it was evident that several key functions of the business could benefit immensely from these solutions and had to push this change to happen. To stay in the forefront of any industry, technology needs to be on point, I believe.
There are systems in place and a strong team that has the sole purpose of monitoring all the properties of the Group on a daily basis. We have just begun to scratch the surface with the tools we are using now. We plan to fully automate a big part of this monitoring process in the coming years. Quality control starts with good communication internally with information readily available to all and that is where we started.
Marketing is what drives the development of our properties. We draw information from data generated by the market and our company to tailor design each project for a specific audience. Once the concepts are complete we go where the target audience is.
D. Zavos Group played a key role in the last 40 years in the development, especially, of Limassol to the glory it enjoys today. Our projects have always been in line with what our city and our country needs. Again with technological advancements in security, mobility and energy, we hope to even further the sustainability aspect of our projects and at the same time reduce our carbon footprint. Even existing developments that we only manage will be driven in the next few years towards renewable energy solutions. As a company responsible for its output we will do whatever we can to improve and contribute. With our 45th anniversary coming up sustainability will be a big part of what is coming for the Group.
Since the introduction of Cloud and SaaS solutions, it has been easier to keep track of technology. For us, it is key to choose partners who are always at the forefront and will always adapt their products to the newest developments, with little or no effort from our end. We do extensive research at the beginning to make sure that we have a smooth and ongoing relationship with the business solutions we choose. Our Cloud-based ERP for instance is upgraded every quarter and our employees are constantly trained on those upgrades to make sure that we take advantage of all it has to offer. From a management perspective, we also make sure to treat ourselves to the odd seminar every once in a while.
The future looks bright and full of opportunity. For the Management Division, we are currently fighting to find time and complete this huge transformation project that will open new horizons and possibilities for the company. The projects we manage are our priority and we strive to improve them daily. The Group in general continues to grow with exceptional new projects being developed and with our entry now in the Greek market, things are looking up. We have currently initiated 3 development projects in Athens and will grow our portfolio to at least double by the end of 2024.
