Cyprus' High Commissioner to the UK Presents Credentials to IMO Secretary-General
During the Meeting, Both Sides Reaffirmed Their Commitment to Strengthening the Relationship Between Cyprus and the IMO
The High Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus to the United Kingdom, Kyriacos Kouros, presented his credentials last week to the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Arsenio Dominguez, as the new Permanent Representative of Cyprus to the Organization.
During the presentation of credentials at the IMO headquarters in London, the Permanent Representative conveyed the warm greetings of the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, to the Secretary-General. He expressed Cyprus' full support for the IMO's work and confidence in the continued close cooperation between Cyprus' Permanent Representation and the Organization.
He also briefed the Secretary-General on the current phase of the Cyprus issue and President Christodoulides' efforts to restart negotiations for resolving the Cyprus problem and reuniting the island.
The IMO Secretary-General welcomed Mr. Kouros, wished him every success in his diplomatic mission, and thanked him for the exemplary cooperation between the Organization and Cyprus, describing Cyprus as an important partner.
During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the relationship between Cyprus and the International Maritime Organization.
