A Few Words About Stamatis Kraounakis

"Rialto Theater has been by my side since I can remember myself in Cyprus, alongside my work and songs. It has always been a warm embrace that kept us alive and standing with our beloved friends in this bright corner of the Mediterranean soul. It is a joy and an honour to participate in the theater’s 25th anniversary. I thank Georgia Detscher from the bottom of my heart for her support, so far, and I wish the new director all the best. I look forward to singing together with three select collaborators!”

The opening act will be performed by Banda Chalkinon Krama. The band was formed in 2023 by two Cypriot musicians, Andreas Theocharous and Nikolaos Georgiou, and consists of six brass instruments, guitar, and drums. Krama is inspired by the concept of combining materials and cultures: the alloy of metal from which the brass instruments are made, and the alloy of Mediterranean and Western music. The group aims to create and perform original music works that combine traditional Mediterranean music with Western music, focusing on preserving the stylistic features of the traditional.
