Summer Occupancy In Paphos Hotels Expected To Decrease By 10%
Estimated By The Paphos Hoteliers Association
According to the President of PASYXE, Evripides Loizides, reduced movement is anticipated due to various factors, including the delayed flights from Israel and ongoing events in neighboring countries, leading to a prediction of decreased occupancy.
Loizides noted that the winter of 2024 started well for the hotel industry in Paphos Province, with January maintaining similar levels to January 2023 and February and March showing satisfactory levels with a 10% increase, indicating a positive trend against seasonality.
April experienced a slight drop of around 3%, and May did not perform satisfactorily, with official statistics still pending. Loizides further emphasized that safety and economic factors are influencing the scenario.
He expressed hope for normalization in neighboring countries as soon as possible, as the upcoming summer months are expected to be much worse than last year.
