Construction Begins on Yeroskipou Town Center Revitalization

The Project Involves Roadworks, Utility Upgrades, and Pedestrian Safety Improvements

Construction work for the revitalization of Yeroskipou’s traditional town center is set to begin.

According to an announcement from the Municipality of Eastern Paphos, the contractor for the Yeroskipou town center redevelopment project (MILTIADES NEOPHYTOU C.E.C. & D.) has confirmed that construction will start on the first section of the project on September 16.

The project involves the demolition of existing roads and sidewalks, earthworks, the installation of new public utility networks (EAC and CYTA), road lighting, and the paving of streets.

The streets affected by the work in the first phase are Arsinonis, Athinon (west of Kerkyras Street), Dionysou, Kerkyras, Leontiou, and G. Talioti (from the intersection with Athinon to the traffic lights).

In Arsinonis, Athinon, and Dionysou Streets, work will be carried out over the next three months, and these streets will remain closed to traffic until December 15, 2024. On Kerkyras, Leontiou, and G. Talioti Streets, occasional interventions will be made to underground the EAC network.

Safe access for pedestrians, affected residents, and visitors to homes and businesses will be ensured throughout the construction period, according to the announcement.

The municipality added that further detailed updates, with all necessary information about subsequent phases of the project, will be provided in a timely manner based on the progress of the work.

The Municipality of Eastern Paphos apologizes in advance for any inconvenience that may arise during the project, the statement concluded.
