CCCI Hosts Dinner to Celebrate Chinese New Year

Event Highlights Bilateral Cooperation in Trade, Energy, and Cultural Exchange

The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), in collaboration with the Cyprus-China Business Association, hosted an official dinner on January 17, 2025, in Nicosia to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

The event was attended by Energy, Commerce, and Industry Minister Giorgos Papanastasiou, Chinese Ambassador to Cyprus H.E. Liu Yantao, and prominent members of the business communities of both countries.

Speaking on behalf of the CCCI, Andreas Tsoloftas emphasized the strategic importance of strengthening economic and cultural ties between Cyprus and China. He highlighted the Chamber’s role in supporting initiatives that create opportunities for collaboration and mutual growth for businesses in both nations.

Minister Papanastasiou underscored the productive collaboration between Cyprus and China in key sectors such as energy, trade, and investment. He reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment that promotes bilateral trade and innovation.

Chinese Ambassador Liu Yantao expressed appreciation for the enduring friendship between the two nations. He highlighted the importance of cultural events like the Lunar New Year celebration in offering the public a chance to experience Chinese culture and traditions.

The Cyprus-China Business Association, operating under the CCCI, aims to deepen commercial ties between the two countries, emphasizing the mutual benefits of enhanced cooperation in trade and investment.
