We are all familiar with, and many of us have experienced firsthand, the golden era of this iconic hotel which reigned in the social life of our country for many decades, as from its very first day it became the absolute meeting point of the political, cultural and socialite scene and its representatives. It was back in the 1960s, soon after Cyprus had finally gained its independence, that the then new president archbishop Makarios envisioned the future of our country in its new era.

The Hilton Cyprus opened its doors in 1967 and was established straightaway as the symbol of the bright new future of Cyprus.
