Kyriakos Iordanou Steps Down from ICPAC After 13 Years as Director

He Will Be Appointed Permanent Secretary at a Cyprus Ministry

Kyriakos Iordanou announced his departure from the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC) after more than two decades of involvement and 13 years as its General Manager.

In a detailed farewell message posted on Facebook, Iordanou said that his tenure at ICPAC was “a long, demanding but beautiful journey,” describing the organisation’s evolution from a small professional body into a respected supervisory and regulatory authority with an expanding role in Cyprus’s economic landscape.

Iordanou noted that his decision to leave “was not easy,” highlighting that the largest part of his professional career has been tied to the institute — first as a board member between 2002 and 2011, during the period when ICPAC was transformed into a recognised professional body, and then as General Manager from 2012 to today.

He said that the organisation navigated years of economic turbulence, regulatory challenges and major national crises, while broadening its scope, strengthening its international presence and enhancing its credibility within the profession. He emphasised the contribution of the institute’s staff, describing them as “the heroes of ICPAC’s development.”

Iordanou will assume his new role as a Ministry Permanent Secretary on 1 December 2025, marking the start of what he called a “new and significant challenge.” Despite the transition, he stressed that ICPAC will “always follow” him and that he remains committed to supporting the institute from his new position.

His departure marks the end of an era for ICPAC, with the organisation expected to enter a period of transition as it prepares for new leadership and its next phase of development.
