The Federation of Associations of Patients in Cyprus has embarked on an ambitious endeavor to gauge the genuine opinions and perceptions of citizens surrounding the General Health System (GHS) and the quality of services they receive. 

Considering that Cyprus’ GHS was established in 2019 and is active for four years, the Ministry of Health and the Health Insurance Organization (HIO) must attain and gauge a sense of success, satisfaction, and efficiency from patients and citizens. 

In this sense, the study will delve into the practices of healthcare providers within the GHS framework. The primary objective is to identify key areas for improvement and implement strategic interventions within the country's healthcare system.

According to the Federation's recent announcement, a comprehensive survey is underway, inviting active participation from citizens and healthcare professionals alike, acknowledging that their voices hold the utmost significance in shaping the future of healthcare in the nation.

Collaborating with prominent entities such as the HIO, the European University of Cyprus, and the University of Nicosia, the Federation is spearheading this groundbreaking study.

At the heart of the research lies an in-depth analysis of practices and perceptions concerning medications and prescriptions within the GHS. Leveraging a structured electronic questionnaire, researchers aim to gather crucial data that will fuel informed decision-making processes.

The Federation of Associations of Patients emphasizes that the ultimate goal of this national study is to pinpoint critical areas in need of attention, relying on localized data for designing well-targeted interventions. The objective is to streamline processes and elevate the quality of prescriptions, ultimately improving the overall healthcare experience for every citizen.
