Papadopoulos: The Cabinet Reshuffle Should Have Happened Yesterday

The DIKO leader stresses that any changes in government should not come at the last minute.

The President of the Democratic Party (DIKO), Nicolas Papadopoulos, was asked to comment on the latest reports suggesting a possible government reshuffle. DIKO is the largest political party participating in the government coalition.

Speaking on a Sigma TV programme, Papadopoulos clarified that he has no information regarding any reshuffle plans. However, he noted that “if it is going to happen, it should have happened yesterday.”

Papadopoulos pointed out that in 40 days Cyprus will assume the Presidency of the European Union, stressing the importance of stability and preparedness within the government.

He emphasized that it would be “unfair both to the Ministers and to the country” if new appointees were placed in charge of key EU committees responsible for shaping policy at a high level without being properly prepared for their duties.
