New €95 Million Nicosia Motorway Project Moves Ahead — Tender Officially Launched
Works on the Anthoupoli–Anagyia section are set to begin in June 2026, co-funded by the EU.
The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announced on Friday the tender for the construction of the new section of the Nicosia Peripheral Motorway, extending from Anthoupoli to Anagyia.
According to the Ministry’s statement, the deadline for the submission of bids has been set for 21 November 2025.
The project concerns a new 9.4-kilometre motorway with four traffic lanes and includes the construction of interchanges, a bridge, and several crossings.
The tender will be conducted through an open procedure, and the award criterion will be the most economically advantageous offer, based on the lowest price.
The construction period is expected to last 40 months, while the defects liability period has been set at 18 months. The works are scheduled to begin in June 2026.
The estimated cost of the project amounts to €95 million (excluding VAT). It is co-financed by the European Union under the Connecting Europe Facility, with EU funding of approximately €43.4 million.
According to the Ministry of Transport, this is a Class A technical project, and all economic operators who meet the eligibility criteria specified in the tender documents are entitled to participate.
