The Cyprus Sports Organization (CSO) has announced that more than 100,000 fan cards have been issued so far.

With the sports season just starting, fans have responded positively to the call for card renewal, as all previous fan cards expired on May 31. Considering that many of the old cards were issued to people who only used them for specific matches (such as foreign visitors attending away games of their teams in Cyprus), the current number is seen as satisfactory.

The CSO, in collaboration with the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy and all relevant stakeholders, has introduced alternative methods for issuing fan cards to retirees, following requests from clubs. The goal is to facilitate the process for the public while ensuring that safety in stadiums remains uncompromised.

It is worth noting that around 90,000 out of the 100,000+ fan cards have been issued through the Digital Citizen application, highlighting the effectiveness of digital solutions in simplifying the process.
