Cyprus Showcases Innovation at SLUSH 2024 in Helsinki
RIF Leads Delegation of Startups and Scaleups to Prestigious Global Event
The Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) actively participated in SLUSH 2024, the international innovation and entrepreneurship festival held in Helsinki, Finland, on November 20-21, 2024. The event brought together entrepreneurs and investors from across the globe, serving as a platform to connect and showcase groundbreaking ideas, according to an RIF press release.
The Cypriot delegation at SLUSH 2024 included over 40 participants, featuring 18 startups and scaleups that presented their products and services to an international audience. The delegation was led by RIF Board Member Andreas Andreou.
In collaboration with organizations from Bulgaria and Greece, RIF co-organized a side event titled "Breaking Boundaries: SEE Tech Meets The World at Slush." Speaking at the event, RIF’s Director General, Theodoros Loukaidis, highlighted Cyprus as a regional hub for innovation and technology. He showcased the country’s thriving ecosystem, underpinned by government incentives and significant investments in innovative enterprises.
Following this, RIF Scientific Officer A’ Georgia Kleanthous introduced the 18 participating companies, emphasizing their innovative solutions and the opportunities they bring to the table.
The event concluded with a networking reception, enabling participants to connect with potential clients and investors. This platform offered Cypriot businesses a chance to strengthen international collaboration and expand their growth opportunities, RIF noted in its press release.
