KEP and KEPO Launch New Digital Channels for Faster Citizen Services in Cyprus
Online scheduling and remote service options aim to reduce delays and simplify procedures.
New and upgraded digital service channels for citizens at the Citizen Service Centres (KEP) and Citizen Centres (KEPO) were jointly announced by the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works.
According to the joint announcement, the aim is to reduce inconvenience, limit delays, and facilitate citizens’ daily interactions with public services. The new features include online appointment scheduling at KEP and KEPO for in-person services, as well as remote service via videoconference from KEP for specific procedures.
Appointments can be scheduled electronically through the website: https://kep-kepo.gov.cy/appointments.
The system allows users to select the Service Point, service type, date and time, offering a direct and efficient way to book appointments.
Regarding remote service via videoconference, it is noted that it provides access to important certificates and information without requiring physical presence at a service point.
Videoconference services are available exclusively to Cypriot citizens and include identity verification for CY-LOGIN accounts, as well as the issuance of certificates from the Social Insurance Services (YKA), such as:
-
detailed employer-by-employer insured person earnings statements
-
full-year and multi-year insurance account statements
-
benefit-related certificates (allowances, pensions, payments)
-
certificate for uninsured persons in the Social Insurance Scheme (Y.K.A. B-1)
-
certificate of entitlement to long-term benefits (Y.K.A. B-2)
-
certificate of entitlement to incapacity or disability pension (Y.K.A. B-3)
-
certificate of insured person as self-employed (Y.K.A. B-5)
Additionally, via videoconference, citizens may receive YKA updates on application progress, as well as information from YDEP on Child Benefit and Single-Parent Family Benefit. Certificates issued remotely include:
-
Child Benefit Certificate
-
Child Benefit & Single-Parent Family Certificate
-
Certificate of Non-Receipt of Child Benefit
The announcement concludes by stating that the operation of these new digital channels aims to strengthen the KEP and KEPO network and support the transition toward more accessible and efficient public services.
