Cypriot Entrepreneur Maro Manoli Honored with EY Gen-E Young Women Leaders Award at GEN-E 2023
In a significant recognition of her exceptional leadership and entrepreneurial prowess, Maro Manoli, a student, now graduate, of the Department of Business and Public Administration, University of Cyprus, from the team "E-mbracelet" received the prestigious "EY Gen-E Young Women Leaders Award" at the GEN-E 2023 European Entrepreneurship Competition. The event, organized by JA Europe and hosted by JA Turkey in Istanbul from July 12th to 14th, brought together more than 800 young entrepreneurs, educators, business partners, and policymakers from across Europe to showcase innovative business ideas and foster entrepreneurial spirit.
The "E-mbracelet" team's mission is to improve the lives of individuals with autism spectrum disorder. Their ingenious product, a smart bracelet with heart monitoring and sound analysis capabilities, provides users with personalized statistics through a dedicated application. By fostering empathy and understanding for individuals with autism, the team has demonstrated their commitment to making a positive impact.
Maro's outstanding achievements and influence within her team during the JA program earned her the coveted "EY Gen-E Young Women Leaders Award." This accolade recognizes young leaders who serve as role models, motivate their peers, exhibit teamwork, and demonstrate remarkable managerial skills.
The Cypriot delegation, which made an impressive showing at the GEN-E 2023 competition, included the national winners of the Student Company program, "FRESHIES," and the StartUp program, "E-mbracelet" from the University of Cyprus.
"FRESHIES," a student company from G.C. School, developed a revolutionary toilet cleaning product consisting of dissolvable, foamy, cleaning capsules. The product aims to eradicate bacteria and unpleasant odors, leaving a refreshing lavender scent behind.
Representing Cyprus, the Gymnasium-Lyceum Olympion was honored for its dedicated efforts in nurturing students' entrepreneurial skills.
